BorgPad is a fully independent initiative, funded entirely by SwissBorg Partners. Our #BetterThanCEX philosophy stems from seven years of witnessing the crypto space evolve—from the free-flowing capital of Ethereum startups and the ICO boom to today’s polarized on-chain world, where most projects have a short lifespan. Only a few heavily VC-backed ventures or revenue-generating giants like MakerDAO or Aave manage to thrive.
Meanwhile, builders focused on delivering real value often remain in the shadows—not because there’s no community for them, but because reaching that community has become prohibitively expensive. We believe that current practices have become significant barriers to adoption, hindering both users and motivated entrepreneurs. It’s time for a change, and we’re bringing it with a bang. It’s time to disrupt the CEX cartel. Who could say no to a #BetterThanCEX experience?
## So... Why Us?
In July 2017, we unveiled[ our optimistic vision for wealth management.](https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B7oagJIIcHg7SnEtYzJmaFVqbzg/view?usp=drive_link\&resourcekey=0-IDIjp6H2UhiXoOv6-w0shw) Coming from backgrounds in traditional finance and banking, we created SwissBorg to disrupt an industry we saw as elitist and unfair. We believed the ideal investment world should eliminate individualism, greed, exclusivity, and fear, while fostering trust, fulfilment, inclusiveness, and freedom.
Guided by this conviction, we raised [$52,000,000 in 2017](https://www.startupticker.ch/en/news/swissborg-ico-reaches-hard-cap-of-50-million) and developed an incredible crypto application that now ranks among the top 10 in Europe.
Since then, we’ve raised tens of millions more for crypto projects and executed the[ largest European crowdfunding campaign with our Series A](https://swissborg.com/launchpad/swissborg-series-a) by the end of 2022—right at the bottom of the bear market.
